Joanna Wilkinson

March 2, 1987 — April 3, 2024

Rockledge, FL

Joanna was born on March 2, 1987 and passed away on April 3, 2024.

She is survived by her husband Brandon, dog Emma, foster child Benji.

She was the youngest of Gary and Theresa Reichley’s seven children. Her siblings are Diana, Katie (Val), David (Courtney), Matt (Shannon), Annie (David), and Jimmy (Megan). Her extended family included Tom and Janet Wilkinson and Brandon’s sisters Taylor (Steven) and Cassie (Oscar).

Joanna was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 2018 and lived an additional adventure-filled six years, determined to live life to the fullest!

As a passionate traveler, she overcame her flying fear for the reward of a new country, city, and adventure.

She was proud of being a Social Worker and Mental Health Therapist supporting individuals who had experienced trauma.

Joanna was well-educated, earning a UNF Bachelor’s degree in Latin American Studies and an MSU Denver Master’s degree in Social Work.

She sought out an EMDR certification; a special technique used to treat psychological trauma, even as she struggled with her own health.

Following undergrad, Brandon, Joanna, and Emma relocated to Denver, and had such amazing adventures. They climbed too many mountains to count and loved sleeping under the stars together.

In 2021, Brandon and Joanna returned to Florida. A series of miracles followed including an extended stay in Hawaii, a Machu Pichu excursion, and the opportunity to foster a 9 month old sweetheart named Benji.

Joanna spent her final months in her childhood home. From cookouts, to beach trips and holidays, Joanna’s face lit up whenever her family was near. Family and love were so important to her.

As an avid writer, she had a knack for expressing herself...

“I tried not to let any fear or insecurity hold me back from experiencing life. From traveling alone in South America (even though I hated talking to strangers), to quitting the jobs that didn’t feel right to take other jobs that lit the fire within me. I never wanted any regrets.”

“Marrying Brandon is the best decision I ever made. He is my best friend and a better partner to me than I ever could have wished for. He has lit up my life with joy, laughter, and positivity. I am forever grateful to be his wife.”

“I absolutely love my life and have had incredible experiences.”
